Atalanta hosts Venezia in a Serie A Matchday 7 fixture. The game takes place on Monday, October 12, at 17:30 UK Time in Bergamo.
The first 1/4-final clash in the Champions League between Real Madrid and Bayern Munich brings together two of the biggest giants in European football. The match will be played on Tuesday, April 7, at 20:00 UK Time at the Santiago Bernabéu.
Form of both teams
Real Madrid enters this match with a good, albeit slightly shaky form: 7 wins and 3 losses in the last 10 games. In the Champions League, however, the "whites" look impeccable, after eliminating Manchester City with an aggregate score of 5:1 in the 1/8-finals. Victories such as 3:0 at home and 2:1 away show the team's immense class and experience in this tournament. However, in La Liga, there are fluctuations - losses to Mallorca, Getafe and Osasuna suggest that the defense is not always up to par, and Alvaro Arbeloa's team has moved away from the title after the past weekend.
Bayern Munich are in great form and have shown exceptional results. The German giants have a series of convincing victories, including 6-1 against Atalanta and 4-0 against Union Berlin. Vincent Kompany's team scores with ease in every match, but also concedes goals - examples are the 3-2 successes against Dortmund and Eintracht, as well as the two convincing victories over Atalanta in the Champions League eliminations with 6-1 and 4-1. Now the challenge for Bayern is much more serious, but the Bavarian giants will strive for victory in Madrid.
Prediction for Real Madrid - Bayern Munich
Tactically, I expect a clash of two offensive-oriented teams. Real Madrid will rely on their experience in the tournament and their strong performance at home, while Bayern will look to impose a high pace and aggressive press. Both teams have great class in attack and are capable of punishing any mistake. In my opinion, it will be a spectacular and productive match, in which both teams will seek an advantage before the second leg and we will see goals in both goals.
