Everton hosts Newcastle in the game from Round of 16 in the League Cup. The game will take place on Thursday, October 29, at 19:45 UK time at Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Arsenal will play against Lille in a game from Champions League league main phase on Tuesday, October 13, at 20:00 UK Time in London.
Match Preview
Arsenal will be aiming for their second Champions League win of the season, having beaten Napoli 1:0 away a month ago. Since that victory in Naples, Mikel Arteta’s side has recorded three wins and one defeat. In their most recent match, Arsenal secured a hard-fought 2:1 victory over Leeds, getting back to winning ways after a heavy 0:3 loss to Brighton before the international break.
Lille have been inconsistent since the start of the season and lost their opening Champions League match 2:3 at home to Betis. Their defensive issues against the Spanish side could prove even more problematic at the Emirates Stadium. Les Dogues got back on track with a 1:0 win over Le Havre on Saturday, having previously lost 1:2 away to Nice. While Lille have won two of their three away games this season, those opponents were well below Arsenal's level.
Prediction for Arsenal - Lille
The Gunners headed into the international break following a disappointing 3:0 defeat to Brighton but have won all eight of their other matches this season. They dominate the game, score goals, and are unlikely to give Lille a chance. I expect the hosts to win this match by a margin of at least two goals.
Prediction: Arsenal -1.5 AHÂ
