Match Preview
The Red Devils have already demonstrated their ability to beat formidable opponents, having secured a 2:0 away victory over Italy at the start of the Nations League campaign. Although they subsequently suffered a narrow 0:1 defeat to France, Belgium's overall performance offers grounds for optimism ahead of the match against Turkey. The Belgians have recorded 5 wins, 3 draws, and 2 losses in their last 10 matches. They also enjoyed an impressive run at the World Cup, reaching the quarter-finals; while they lost 1:2 to the eventual champions Spain, they had previously routed the USA 4:1 and claimed a convincing 5:1 victory over New Zealand.
Turkey is currently going through a difficult spell and appears to be on the verge of parting ways with head coach Vincenzo Montella. The team began its Nations League campaign with two consecutive defeats. While the opening 0-1 loss to France was a respectable result, it was followed by a heavy 1-4 home defeat against Italy. Turkey had previously achieved some good results, including a 3–2 victory over the USA at the World Cup, but overall, they were disappointing at the 2026 tournament.
Prediction for Belgium - Turkey
I expect Belgium to capitalize on home advantage and bounce back following their loss to France. Turkey has shown vulnerabilities against strong opponents, and their recent 1:4 defeat against a rejuvenated Italian side is a serious warning sign ahead of Friday's away match in Brussels. Belgium has already won in Italy and has the quality to secure a second Nations League victory.
Prediction: 1
