Match Preview
Just a few days ago, Italy secured a decisive 4:1 away victory over Turkey, followed by a 1:1 draw with France. The situation is vastly different for the Turks, who have suffered two heavy defeats recently, conceding a total of seven goals. The crisis is deepening, and Vincenzo Montella still appears unable to find the right formula to stabilize the team. Italy has recorded six wins, two draws, and two losses in their last 10 matches. After an unexpected 0:2 home defeat to Belgium, the team responded in the best possible way by thrashing Turkey 4:1.
Turkey has lost its last three Nations League matches: 0:1 against France, 1:4 against Italy, and 0:3 against Belgium. In these three games alone, the team scored just one goal while conceding eight. The Turkish side failed to bounce back from the loss to Roberto Mancini’s team; instead of putting up a fight against the Belgians, they suffered another heavy 0:3 defeat. This indicates that the problems are not limited to a single match. The defense is conceding too many chances, while the attack struggles to find solutions against strong opponents.
Prediction for Italy - Turkey
Vincenzo Montella faces a tough challenge, as his team appears to lack the necessary stability. After three consecutive defeats, Turkey needs an immediate turnaround, but the away match in Italy is unlikely to yield many positives for our southern neighbor. The 4:1 victory in their previous encounter demonstrated a clear gap in class and current form, so my prediction is a win for the Azzurri.
Prediction: 1
