Netherlands will play against Serbia in a Matchday 4 fixture of the UEFA Nations League. The game takes place on Sunday, October 4, at 19:45 UK Time.
Match Preview
Netherlands and Serbia face off once again in the Nations League, with the hosts entering the match holding the advantage following a 2:1 win in Belgrade just a few days ago. For Serbia, however, the situation is becoming increasingly dire. The team has lost three consecutive matches in the tournament - against Greece, the Netherlands, and Germany, conceding a total of five goals in the process. The question facing them ahead of this away game against the Dutch is: is there a way out of the crisis for Serbia?
The hosts are far from flawless in defense, but they compensate for this with their attacking prowess. In their last 10 matches, they have recorded four wins, five draws, and only one defeat. Notably, seven of these games featured at least three goals. Recent results illustrate this trend: a 2:2 draw with Greece, a 2:1 win over Serbia, 1:1 draws against Germany and Morocco, a 3:1 victory over Tunisia, and an impressive 5:1 win against Sweden. While the Netherlands clearly struggle to keep clean sheets, they also rarely fail to find the back of the net
Prediction for Netherlands vs Serbia
I expect the Netherlands to continue their trend of high-scoring matches, while Serbia will be forced to play more boldly. The hosts have already demonstrated in Belgrade that they can break down the Serbian defense, whereas the visitors possess enough individual quality to find the net at least once. In my opinion, this will be a high-scoring encounter with at least three goals.
Prediction: Over 2.5 goals
