The ninth round of Ligue 1 features an exciting derby on Friday at 20:05 UK Time, as Lille host Lens in a clash between two sides looking to establish themselves among the league's top teams.
Nottingham Forest host Arsenal in a match from the seventh round of the Premier League. The game will take place on Sunday, October 17, at 16:30 UK Time at the City Ground.
Match Preview
Arsenal cannot afford any slip-ups, as they currently trail the leaders, Manchester City, by six points. The reigning champions have recorded five wins and one defeat in their six Premier League matches so far. Arsenal are currently on a two-game winning streak across all competitions, following home victories against Lille (3:0) in the Champions League and Leeds (2:1). However, in their most recent away fixture, Mikel Arteta’s side suffered a heavy 0:3 defeat to Brighton.
Nottingham Forest have had a poor start to the season and find themselves close to the relegation zone. The hosts have managed 1 win, 2 draws, and 3 losses, scoring only five goals. In the previous round, Nottingham lost 1:3 away to Crystal Palace, displaying a weak defensive performance. The team is also struggling in attack, having failed to score in their home match against Coventry (0:1). Can Nottingham bounce back and pull off a surprise against Arsenal this Sunday?
Prediction for Nottingham - Arsenal
Arsenal has won six, drawn two, and lost two of their last 10 Premier League away matches - a solid run of form. However, The Gunners have conceded a goal in six of their last 10 away games in the Premier League. Given their recent defensive vulnerabilities - notably in the away match against Brighton, it is reasonable to expect Nottingham to score, resulting in goals at both ends.
