Napoli and Roma will face off in a match from 8th round of Serie A this Saturday at 17:00 UK Time at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona in Naples.
Juventus host Rennes for a match in the 3rd round of the Europa League main phase. The game takes place on Thursday at 17:45 UK Time at the Allianz Stadium in Turin.
Match Preview
Juventus suffered a heavy defeat last weekend, losing 0-3 at home to Lazio. This marks the second consecutive Serie A match in which Luciano Spalletti’s side has failed to secure a win. The team’s performance was well below par, and the players will need to respond with a much better showing against Rennes. On a positive note for Juve, they have won both of their Europa League matches so far this season, defeating Celta (2-1) and NEC Nijmegen (5-0).
Rennes lost 3:4 to Paris FC in a thrilling encounter over the weekend, but they will be hoping for a stronger defensive display as they look to pull off a surprise in Turin. The French side beat OFI Crete 2-1 at home last Thursday, securing their first victory in the Europa League. In their opening match, Rennes played out a 0-0 draw away to Sturm Graz. With three defeats in their last five matches, the team is not in the best of form, and the visit to the Allianz Stadium promises to be a stern test.
Prediction for Juventus - Rennes
Prior to their loss against Lazio, Juventus could boast strong results at home. Luciano Spalletti’s side had recorded 4 wins and 1 draw in their 5 home matches. Juventus possesses high-quality players, and I believe they will find the right path to victory against an opponent that struggles to compete with the big names in European football.
Prediction: 1
