Napoli and Roma will face off in a match from 8th round of Serie A this Saturday at 17:00 UK Time at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona in Naples.
Liverpool will play against Villarreal in a third-round match of the Champions League main phase. The game takes place on Tuesday evening at 20:00 UK Time at Anfield.
Match Preview
Liverpool heads into the match following two consecutive victories in the competition and will look to leverage their home-field advantage to take another step toward the next stage of the Champions League. The visitors have also proven they can be dangerous on the biggest stage, having defeated Napoli 3:1 - though their recent inconsistency raises questions ahead of their trip to Anfield.
The Merseysiders secured an important 2:1 away win against Brentford on Saturday, following a high-scoring spectacle against LASK Linz, which they won 6:3 on Austrian soil. In doing so, the team quickly put their disappointing 0:3 loss to Manchester City behind them, demonstrating that their attacking potential remains formidable. In their last ten matches, Liverpool have recorded six wins, three draws, and only one defeat.
Villarreal arrive in England following a goalless draw against Elche in the Spanish league. Just days earlier, the team claimed a valuable 3:1 victory over Napoli in the Champions League, proving they can be effective against strong opponents. Furthermore, 3:1 wins over Levante and Malaga in La Liga highlight the attacking potential of The Yellow Submarine.
Prediction for Liverpool - Villarreal
The guests have struggled to maintain consistency since the start of the season. They lost 0:1 to Real Madrid, fell 1–2 to Betis, and suffered defeats against Borussia Dortmund (2:3) and Deportivo A Coruna (2:3). In these matches, their defense failed to contain the opposition's attacks; such weaknesses could well be punished by Liverpool, so my prediction is a win for The REds.
Prediction: 1
